Introducing Community Server Web Services - Scott Watermasysk & Dan Bartels

Community Server 2008 will ship both a full REST stack which will enable standard and consistent access to all of Community Server's underlying data. In addition to the REST stack, we will also be shipping a full client API implementation which should make it super easy to write start writing your own application, add-ons, and customizations from day one. In this session, we will look at the areas the API covers, common patterns, and cover some of the key usage scenarios.

Leveraging Community Server Reporting - Jason Alexander & Kevin Harder

The Community Server Reporting add-on will allow you (and your clients) an easy way to begin to guage ROI. In this session, Jason and Kevin will give present the type of reporting that is possible. In addition, they will cover how you can extend and leverage this platform to build your own custom reports to help your clients meet their objectives.

Shared Membership - Jose Lema

Shared Membership was a key addition to Community Server 2007 and for many clients is an integral part in integrating Community Server into an existing infrastructure. In this session, Jose will walk through how you can setup, deploy, and extend the membership system.

A Look Ahead: Groups, Messages, Photos, and Files - Jose Lema

There are four major new functional pieces we will be delivering in Community Server 2008. In this session we will look at what the new pieces will deliver and begin the discussions around how you can leverage and customize them in your own projects.

Community Server Component Extensibility - Scott Watermasysk

Community Server ships with a core set of extensibility points: CSModules, Providers, Tasks, Spam Rules, and more. In this session we will look at when and where you should use each and when you would be better off just changing the core code.

Theming Community Server - Ben Tiedt & Wyatt Preul

Community Server 2007 shipped with a completely rewritten UI stack called Chameleon. Chameleon is a powerful and rich set of set of controls you can leverage to bend Community Server's UI into the most complicated scenarios. In this session, Ben and Wyatt will cover the basics of Chameleon, tips for quickly getting things setup, as well what you can expect in Community Server 2008 and an overview of dynamic theming (which will be a major part of Community Server 2008).

Tips and Tricks - Scott Watermasysk

This will be an interactive session where users and the Community Sever developer team can come together and share some of their favorite tips and tricks for customizing Community Server.
